YOUTH LEADERSHIP
MFi’s Youth Leader Program gives Medfield High School students the opportunity to practice philanthropy and volunteerism while gaining leadership experience in the process.
The Youth Leaders work through the fall on Angel Run. From strategic marketing and promotion, to event logistics and details, the Youth Leaders are an integral part of all aspects of the planning and execution of a successful Angel Run. In the spring, the Youth Leaders are tasked with granting a portion of Angel Run funds to Medfield based causes. This enables the Youth Leaders to build on their fund raising work and learn first hand about philanthropy and running a successful grant process.
The Youth Leader Program accepts applications annually through June 15 to join the program for the following September.
All applicants must:
-
be a resident of the Town of Medfield
-
be a rising freshman
-
complete the Youth Leader application
-
provide one reference from a school or community member
-
be able to attend meetings at Medfield High School from 7-7:30 a.m. a few times a month (Failure to attend meetings without a valid excuse will result in dismissal from the program)
-
agree to a minimum of a two-year commitment and at least 20 hours of community service hours per year, with at least 5 hours in the spring not related to the Angel Run
-
be available to volunteer the day of the Angel Run, usually the first Sunday of December
